This historical film is about the families involved in Canada, that became involved in the First World War. It is based on accounts by people who lived experience during that time. It was filmed in Calgary, Alberta. It depicts the folly of war, and the overcoming of differences to find common ground. This was the highest-budgeted Canadian film ever, with a budget of around $20 million. It tells the story of the 10th Battalion. The film only grossed around $4 million, well under expected revenue. Overall, I enjoyed this war drama & liked how it linked to the region I am currently living in. Many Canadians were affected by these world events, and it still is a stark reminder of how conflict hurts the ordinary people the most. I give it a 5 out of 5.
