This 1975 comedy-drama is another film featuring the epic acting of Jack Nicholson. It is based on the novel by Ken Kesey. It tells the story of mental patients in an institution as they navigate the care system for those labelled "insane". It has plenty of comic interludes, and the characters are laughable and lovable. The one nurse is especially well-portrayed. Cold, calculated in white attire. Jack's sense of humour, and sarcasm for a healthcare system that leaves much to be admired. I very much enjoyed this film, especially the ending where the First Nations Chief uses a water fountain to break out and escape the asylum. The irony of Hollywood can be too much sometimes. I give it a 5 out of 5.
