This animated musical comedy was a co-production between the United States & Australia. It stars Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Robin Williams, and Elijah Wood. It is set in Antarctica with a flock of penguins. The story centres around a young penguin named Mumble who can't sing. There are obvious associations made to autism, and to me the broader neurotypical community being made. Also Linux the open-source operating system often uses a Penguin as its symbol. The film generated $348 million on a $100 million budget. This is wholesome family entertainment that all the family can enjoy. Seeing as how penguins swim rather than fly is also a novel visual signifier of intrigue in this film. Overall, I give it a 5 out of 5.
