This 1957 Western drama film was directed by Robert Stevenson and produced by Walt Disney. It stars Dorothy McGuire and Fess Parker. In it, a stray dog is adopted into a rural family's home, and it features many trials and tribulations they face. Eventually, the dog, Old Yeller, becomes endeared even though he had exhibited bad behavior whilst being a stray. It generated $6.25 million in the US & Canada at the box office. It was added to the National Film Registry in the US for being quintessential cultural material, probably because it was relating to the time & setting of the American Civil War. I very much enjoyed this film. Overall, I give it a 5 out of 5.
